Domestic Abuse: Charlotte Kneer and Tim Loughton MP (https://www.channel4.com/news/domestic-abuse-debate-charlotte-kneer-and-tim-loughton-mp)
There is an introduction started with saying that Theresa May wants to bring in new laws on how domestic abuse is dealt with in the UK. there is a sound bite where she uses a quote saying " it'll be a personal priority" and she ones on to say that she'll be interviewing Charlotte Kneer a survivor of domestic violence and is now an ambassador for the charity Women’s Aid.
They use a sound bite and footage of Theresa May talking about the domestic violence and how it needs to be tackled, there is other footage of her going down the houses of parliament while the sound clip explains what has been going on with the new domestic law. They then bring up statistics of the violence which happens every week to make the audience aware of how often domestic abuse happens in England and Wales. They also have footage of interviewing people from different safe house places e.g. Safe Lives on their opinion of this new law. (though it does not show the question being asked just the answers)
When Cathy starts interviewing Charlotte Kneer she starts with a sensitive and open question saying " what did you endure and the toll it took on you and your two daughters?" she started with this open question so that way the audience can be told what she went through in a domestic relationship and how it effected them. After Charlotte answered her question Cathy went onto the subject of the new law asking her " In terms of the new law being opposed would that have helped and been the answer of getting people like your ex partner being convicted?" this would've been a multiple question for her as she's asking if it would've helped her
